VISUAL AND DIGITAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to plan, produce, and direct media content that aligns with the city's mission and branding guidelines.
• Produce, film, and edit video footage for various storytelling and marketing needs, including scripting, logistical coordination, and interviewing.
• Set up, operate, and maintain sound equipment for city meetings and events.
• Ensure optimal sound quality, manage audio feeds, and troubleshoot any issues during live events.
• Record and edit audio content for archival and broadcast purposes.
• Plan, produce, and direct video content for municipal meetings and events.
• Operate and maintain video equipment, including cameras, switchers, and monitors.
• Edit video footage for live streaming, broadcasts, and recorded archives.
• Coordinate logistical aspects of audio and video production, including setup and teardown of equipment.
• Maintain and update digital asset libraries for audio and video content.
• Ensure all audio and video content aligns with the city's branding and communication strategy.
• Create and manage multimedia projects using project management software.
• Coordinate with external video production partners and manage footage selection and review processes.
• Maintain and update camera and video equipment, staying current with editing software technology.
• Measure the attendance and collaboration of photographer/videographer at city events and community gatherings.
• Assess the quality of photos and videos produced, ensuring proper labeling, organization, and accessibility.
• Ensure all photos and videos comply with legal requirements, including obtaining consent.
• Support the professional development of the photographer/videographer.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on audio-visual equipment, including basic network troubleshooting.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, public officials, and the public.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in television, Film Production, Multimedia, Sound Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in audio engineering, video production, and live streaming.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut X, and Canva.
• Experience with vMix or OBS-style production software.
• Experience with PTZ cameras, video, audio, and lighting equipment.
• Valid State of Georgia Driver's License in good standing.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Creative, innovative, and detail-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse team members.
• Knowledge of design principles, marketing trends, and best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
• Physical ability to exert light effort, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds, and work extended periods at a workstation or in the field.

Nice to Have

• Experience with vMix or OBS-style production software.
