About the Role

UKG is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Engineering, AI to spearhead the development and innovation of their AI-driven Platform engineering initiatives. The role involves leading platform engineering teams to create cutting-edge AI capabilities that enhance enterprise and mid-market product offerings. Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive AI Platform engineering strategy that aligns with UKG's long-term vision, focusing on machine learning, natural language processing, and data-driven decision-making.
Lead and mentor a team of talented Data Scientists and AI engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Inspire team members to achieve their career goals while driving the success of AI projects.
Work closely with product management and architecture teams to ensure seamless integration of AI solutions into the platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI initiatives with business objectives.
Partner with sales and customer success teams to understand client needs and translate them into AI-driven solutions.
Represent UKG's AI capabilities to strategic customers and at industry events.
Serve as a thought leader in AI engineering, representing UKG at conferences, industry panels, and analyst briefings.
Stay abreast of emerging AI trends and technologies to maintain UKG's competitive edge.
Continuously monitor the competitive landscape and global market trends to identify opportunities and threats.
Make informed decisions to adapt the AI strategy as needed.

Requirements

Proven experience leading AI engineering and platform engineering teams and developing AI strategies in a SaaS environment.
Strong technical expertise in AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, and data analytics.
Demonstrated success in managing and growing engineering teams, with a focus on AI and innovation.
Exceptional communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage with executive leadership and diverse audiences.
A decisive leader with a strong executive presence and the ability to drive strategic initiatives.
15+ years of experience in engineering, with a significant focus on AI and SaaS applications.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have

Experience in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Experience representing AI capabilities at industry events and conferences.
