The role of VP, UX Studio Designer is part of our Design Hub within BNY, working in a hybrid setup in New York, NY. The position involves guiding complex user experience activities, collaborating with various teams, mentoring junior designers, and advocating for user-centered design across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Provide guidance and technical expertise for complex user experience activities including user research, testing, interactive design, and visual design.
Review documentation of research findings and present insights to product and development teams.
Participate in and guide the creation of concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications to meet project schedules.
Synthesize information across multiple factors and seek to build expertise while applying company policies and procedures.
Give design feedback and build effective relationships with team members and cross-functional partners.
Get involved with team process and organization, mentoring and training junior designers.
Operate from a Studio-centric model, executing routine work under limited supervision and exercising discretion.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
8-10 years of experience in user experience or related fields.
Experience providing guidance on user research, testing, interactive and visual design.
Strong communication skills, ability to give feedback, and build relationships.
Ability to synthesize complex information and work independently with limited supervision.
Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

Nice to Have

Advanced degree in a related field.
