XR Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with a cross-functional team to understand AR/VR use case requirements, data flows, and hardware/software partitioning.
• Collaborate with technology, hardware, and software experts to translate use-case requirements into implementation specifications and contribute to software design.
• Engage early with customers and align with product management on platform requirements.
• Leverage expert software knowledge to implement and oversee the design, development, creation, modification, and validation of embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs.
• Oversee the resolution of design, coding, and technical issues by presenting end-to-end solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, regression tests, and triage issues to ensure code quality.
• Deploy state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and features into commercial XR products.
• Develop production code and system architectures with excellent design quality.
• Work with modern C++ (11-20) to write reliable, maintainable, and idiomatic code.
• Analyze performance, test, and debug on multi-core heterogeneous mobile architectures (CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, tensor accelerators, SoCs, embedded systems).
• Follow established software development processes including CI/CD, testing, and code reviews.
• Apply outstanding problem-solving skills and communicate effectively within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 2-10+ years of software engineering experience.
• OR Master's degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 1-9+ years of experience.
• OR PhD in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python.
• Experience with embedded platforms such as Android and Linux.
• Strong skills in analyzing performance, testing, and debugging on heterogeneous mobile architectures.
• Solid experience with software development processes including CI/CD, code reviews, and testing.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Augmented/Virtual Reality and general computer vision enabling technologies and devices.
• Proven experience in conducting architectural trade-offs, power/performance analysis, and SW-HW trade-offs.
• Extensive knowledge of graphics pipeline, computer vision pipelines, machine learning methods, and camera pipelines.
• Experience with Python programming.

Qualifications
