About the Role

The Outside Contractor Sales Representative in Key West is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships within the Lumber and Building Materials industry. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, achieving sales targets, and effectively communicating the value of building materials such as lumber, trusses, and exterior building products. The position requires managing designated territories through customer visits and fostering long-term client relationships to support company growth.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure delivery of target sales by meeting with customers and maintaining relationships
Recommend service and product enhancements to improve sales potential
Analyze plans and trends to ensure best assignment of territories, clients, and service distribution
Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in industry networks, and growing lasting client relationships
Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes and forecasting
Remain relevant with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand shifts, and product mix
Positively contribute to full sales and customer service teams
Develop and collaborate on long- and short-term sales strategies

Requirements

Minimum 3-5+ years of Outside Sales or Account Management experience
Knowledge of lumber, trusses, and exterior building materials preferred
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish rapport and build relationships with customers
Highly motivated and results-oriented
Strong negotiation and closing skills

Qualifications

Experience in outside sales or account management
