About the Role

The AI Search & SEO Strategy Manager at Century Communities drives organic growth across search engines and AI-powered answer engines to ensure the organization is discoverable and competitive in evolving search ecosystems. This role combines technical SEO expertise, content optimization, structured data management, and AI-focused strategy to maximize organic visibility, traffic, and conversion outcomes. The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days remote and 2 days in the office, and involves both hands-on execution and long-term strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain a comprehensive SEO roadmap addressing technical, content, and off-page initiatives.
Develop an AEO-specific strategy focusing on emerging platforms like Google SGE, Bing AI, and ChatGPT, optimizing for conversational and zero-click search formats.
Conduct quarterly technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site speed, and Core Web Vitals.
Oversee structured data/schema implementation to improve eligibility for rich snippets, knowledge panels, and voice search.
Partner with developers to resolve technical errors and deploy SEO fixes.
Conduct search intent and keyword gap analyses to inform editorial calendar and content prioritization.
Optimize all web content for SEO and AI discoverability, including FAQs, long-form content, and structured Q&A formats.
Work with content teams to create answer-first content designed for AI summaries and voice search.
Lead review reply management for Google Business, Yelp, and other review platforms.
Monitor and manage backlink profile health, addressing toxic links or disavows when necessary.
Build monthly and quarterly organic performance dashboards tracking traffic, conversions, rankings, and AI presence.
Conduct competitive benchmarking against direct competitors and AI search trends.
Translate insights into actionable next steps for leadership and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of search algorithms, ranking factors, and structured data (Schema.org, JSON-LD).
Experience with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Lighthouse, etc.
Familiarity with conversational AI platforms and generative search features.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years of experience in SEO; exposure to AEO or voice search optimization is a strong plus.
