Key Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, document, and maintain applications to meet ERCOT business requirements for Electric Power Grid Applications, including RIOO and NDCRC web-based applications.
  • Adhere to software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, perform testing and validation of applications and user interface changes to deliver quality software.
  • Work closely with customers, subject matter experts, team members, and internal technical teams to develop and maintain complex applications supporting market needs and internal requirements.
  • Develop UI components using CSS/HTML, Angular, JavaScript, and backend Java API endpoints, Oracle database changes with Java and PL/SQL.
  • Participate in requirements and design review discussions with business users.
  • Manage source code using Atlassian Bitbucket and follow SDLC standards for all software changes.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in RIOO applications, and support systems in development environments.
  • Automate software development processes using CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins.
  • Create and deliver training presentations on application enhancements.
  • Provide technical support and collaborate with support teams, market participants, and vendors to meet ERCOT market needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year related work experience for Level 2 Engineer, 3 years for Level 3 Engineer, 5 years for Senior Level Engineer.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, PL/SQL, Python, Shell Scripting.
  • Experience with web development frameworks including Angular 2 or higher, RxJS, NgRx, Redux, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Experience with web application servers like JBOSS and Tomcat.
  • Knowledge of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Experience with source control tools like Git and GitHub.
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Linux, and AIX.

Nice to Have

  • Full stack development experience.
  • UX development experience.
  • Understanding of agile software development practices.
  • Experience working with GIT.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Oracle PL/SQL, Python, Perl.
  • Experience with messaging services like Tibco JMS, AMQ.
  • Experience with CIM/XML model-based tools.
  • Power industry experience in grid and market arena, preferably with software vendors or ISO/utilities.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in electrical, computer engineering, or computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant work experience as specified for each level.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary range of $90,220 - $153,380 based on experience.
  • Flexible on-site schedule with at least 2 days per week in Taylor, TX, or more as needed.
  • Remote work from Texas residence.
  • Option to work more on-site or 100% remotely.
