About the Role

The Assistant Director for JCA Recruitment & Digital Engagement at Butler University will support student recruitment efforts by promoting JCA's programs and performances to internal and external communities. The role involves representing JCA during recruitment, application, and audition processes, as well as managing the College's digital and print presence through website content, social media strategy, and recruitment materials. The position is based in Indianapolis, IN, and is part of the Admissions and Enrollment category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementation of outreach, recruitment, audition, and new student enrollment processes for JCA, including coordinating recruitment-specific events.
  • Communicate and meet with prospective students and their families via in-person visits, email, phone, and virtual platforms.
  • Organize supplementary visit experiences such as sample music lessons, class observations, and shadow days.
  • Serve as a JCA representative at college fairs, festivals, and high school outreach events; occasional travel may be required.
  • Prepare materials for external recruitment events.
  • Develop and maintain strategic digital engagement plans in collaboration with College Leadership.
  • Serve as the primary content manager for the JCA website.
  • Lead the college's social media strategy, maintaining active accounts across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and X.
  • Monitor social media activity and respond appropriately.
  • Create and curate digital content including graphics, videos, and written posts aligned with JCA branding.
  • Partner with College leadership to create grassroots marketing plans supporting recruitment events and performances.
  • Create and maintain a content calendar and media library of images and videos.
  • Analyze and report on website and social media analytics to inform strategy.
  • Provide support and training for digital engagement best practices within the JCA community.
  • Collaborate with the Butler Arts & Events Center and other marketing units for cross-promotion.
  • Support the Dean's office in maintaining college displays and digital signage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, arts administration, or related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in marketing, social media management, or digital communications, preferably in higher education or the arts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva, WordPress/CMS, Google Workspace, and major social media platforms.
  • Experience developing content for multiple audiences across various platforms.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Understanding of SEO and digital engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with community-based organizations across a broad spectrum of constituents.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Experience working with arts programs or arts organizations.
  • Knowledge of higher education recruitment and event promotion.
  • Familiarity with video content creation and performance marketing.
