About the Role

The Assistant Manager, Sales & Marketing at Azuma Foods International Inc. is responsible for supervising sales and sales administration employees, managing sales functions across various divisions, and contributing to product development and marketing efforts. The role involves using independent judgment, overseeing departmental budgets, and supporting staff development to drive revenue growth and meet company sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, directly supervising 5 to 10 employees including sales and sales administration staff.
  • Participating in the hiring process and recommending hiring, discipline, and termination decisions.
  • Understanding and managing sales KGI and KPI to meet sales goals and drive revenue growth.
  • Overseeing sales functions for HQ, domestic, export, and special sales.
  • Managing sales admin operations including purchase and product inventory, receivables, communication, client management, and sales analysis.
  • Reporting on current sales/market and department situation to the manager.
  • Contributing to product development, including new product lines and modifications.
  • Forecasting sales plans and achieving sales goals.
  • Checking and allocating inventories.
  • Supervising department budget and expenses.
  • Overseeing special functions such as marketing events, shows, demonstrations, and network events.
  • Requesting imported products for divisions and communicating with the manager to improve employee motivation and behavior.
  • Providing motivation, support, and guidance to subordinate sales representatives and sales administration employees.
  • Experimenting with acquisition channels such as event management, website, social media, and advertising.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Japanese, with the ability to speak, read, and write in both languages.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the food industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with various levels of staff and departments.
  • Strong leadership, motivation, and supervision skills.
  • Experience with planning budgets, schedules, and work plans.
