About the Role

The Associate Director, Advanced Analytics, focuses on extracting insights from various commercial data sources leveraging advanced analytics techniques and tools to support business decision making across marketing, sales, finance, and managed care. This role reports to the Senior Director, Commercial Data & Advanced Analytics. The position involves collaborating with multiple internal teams to drive strategic initiatives, develop predictive models, and optimize commercial activities within the company's portfolio, including products like EXPAREL, ZILRETTA, and iovera. Pacira BioSciences is dedicated to non-opioid pain management and regenerative health solutions, fostering an inclusive culture that emphasizes collaboration, growth, and innovative thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • With minimal guidance, deliver impactful commercial advanced analytics projects to guide business decision making.
  • Answer key business questions and identify business opportunities by analyzing data from industry and internal sources.
  • Translate insights gleaned from advanced analytics into clear and compelling recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Insights & Analytics, Marketing, Managed Care, Field, Commercial Operations, and IT to deliver on advanced analytics projects.
  • Develop analytical data layers for anonymized patient claims data to support various analytics needs.
  • Perform patient analytics using Real-World Data sources such as longitudinal patient claims data and lab/diagnostic testing data.
  • Evaluate and optimize channel performance and ROIs of digital channels in an omnichannel environment.
  • Transform business goals into measurable KPIs and support the development of statistical analysis and analytical plans for multichannel/digital marketing activities.
  • Create marketing mix models and promotion response analyses.
  • Develop predictive models to anticipate customer needs, improve customer experience, and optimize promotional efforts.
  • Conduct commercial Life Sciences Market Access data analysis, including pull-through analysis, payer-plan segmentation, and rebate optimization.
  • Standardize and automate recurring data analytics requests.
  • Oversee development of dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses to support commercial decision-making.
  • Keep abreast of key market events, competitor activities, and assess their potential impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields include Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Economics, Healthcare, or Healthcare Informatics; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare consulting with a focus on advanced analytics, data science, or business analytics.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing scalable advanced analytics tools and capabilities.
  • Experience working with commercial data sources and tools relevant to the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., Veeva, IQVIA, SHA, MMIT).
  • Deep healthcare industry knowledge including managed care, patient, provider, and disease area trends.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills for interdepartmental initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical skills to work with complex data sets, formulate analysis plans, and derive insights.
  • Ability to translate analytics into clear messages and recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Statistical programming experience with Python, R, or similar.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience working in management consulting.
  • Experience in orthopedic markets, anesthesia, or closely related specialties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in relevant industry roles.
