About the Role

This innovative financial services organization is seeking an Associate Director of Data Products to spearhead its shared data products team within the digital product division. The role involves leading a team of data analysts and managers, defining the vision for a scalable data platform, and developing data products that offer crucial insights into digital behaviors and product performance. The successful candidate will foster close collaboration with engineering and product teams to align data initiatives with overarching business objectives and the company's digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor a team of data analysts and data product managers, fostering their growth and empowering them to achieve the organization's data vision.
  • Define and execute the strategic vision and roadmap for the shared data platform, ensuring its alignment with business needs and broader digital strategies.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications for a robust and secure data platform, ensuring adherence to best practices in data management and governance.
  • Lead the creation of data analytics products that provide actionable insights into user behavior, product performance, and key business metrics, driving their adoption across the digital organization.
  • Collaborate with various teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data insights to enhance digital product performance, improve customer experiences, and achieve business outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for data governance, data quality, and compliance with relevant industry regulations.
  • Effectively communicate progress, address challenges, and align strategic priorities for data initiatives with senior leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of data products, from initial concept to deployment, ensuring they meet business goals and deliver tangible value.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in data product management, data analytics, or a similar capacity, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record in building and scaling data platforms and delivering complex data products within a financial services or digital product environment.
  • Expertise in digital, customer journey, and cross-channel analytics.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, cloud-based technologies (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP), and data tools such as data lakes, ETL pipelines, and data warehouses.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, including managing managers and mentoring data professionals.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets to inform business decisions and product strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience working in a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Knowledge of data governance, relevant industry regulations, and compliance best practices.
  • Experience with digital analytics platforms (e.g., Heap, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a financial services or digital product environment.
  • Familiarity with data lakes, ETL pipelines, and data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations related to data governance and compliance.

Qualifications
