Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the profitable execution of assigned small dollar Fire Install Projects under general direction from the Installation/Operations Manager and/or Project Manager.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations Leadership, and other teams to provide sales support activities early in the project development process, including input on strategy, vendor/partner selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, risk assessment, and more.
  • Provide work direction to project execution teams including Engineers, Designers, Technicians, Project Coordinators, Estimators, and Subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed accurately, on-time, billed, within budget, and within scope.
  • Maintain positive cash flow and actively pursue change orders.
  • Ensure work performed complies with legal requirements and safety standards, following project management procedures and processes.
  • Manage scope, costs, resources, and risks to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Act as the primary on-site leader for execution teams, developing a Project Execution Plan including Work Breakdown Structure, Safety Plan, Schedules, Issues/Risk Logs, and Staffing Requirements.
  • Evaluate contractual scope of work and the impact of client instructions, directives, and schedule changes; pursue change orders and perform related cost estimates and negotiations.
  • Manage project-related accounts payable, billing, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate project billing.
  • Review and interpret contract Terms and Conditions to ensure work meets customer satisfaction and company standards.
  • Analyze financial reporting and project schedules to address potential issues proactively.
  • Manage risks and establish project recovery plans when necessary, resolving disputes with minimal escalation.
  • Prepare RFPs, negotiate, and issue subcontracts.
  • Ensure project document controls comply with contract requirements and standards.
  • Oversee project construction for compliance with specifications, codes, and installation techniques.
  • Manage the procurement and delivery schedule of materials for assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors, attending progress meetings and ensuring subcontractors understand project expectations.
  • Coordinate with management for resource allocation, ensure engineering and commissioning standards are met, and facilitate escalation of product-related issues.
  • Assist in project development efforts and provide feedback on team performance.
  • Perform Installation to Service turnover at project completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture is preferred.
  • An Associate degree with equivalent work-related experience and/or a minimum of five years of direct field experience in the Building Construction Industry is required.
  • Ability to verbally and non-verbally communicate technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in Project Management software and financial accounting systems.
  • Experience working with MS Project, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment.
  • Travel may be required based on project assignment and needs.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
