Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Fire projects up to $150k Parts & Smarts and Security projects between $50k and $150k.
  • Act as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete projects with assigned customers.
  • Perform or delegate tasks required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including installation coordination and project closeout.
  • Be responsible for the overall financial results of assigned projects including costs, project billings, and collections.
  • Maintain a balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results.
  • Actively pursue selling change orders.
  • Coordinate communication with customer representatives of Quality Assurance, Engineering, Validation, and other related departments during all phases of the project.
  • Ensure proper execution of warranty.
  • Provide work direction to subcontractors, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary.
  • Ensure work performed is in compliance with local, Provincial, and Federal legal requirements and operate with high ethics.
  • Interpret applicable regulatory requirements and ensure project deliverables meet these and customer requirements.
  • Support the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials for assigned projects.
  • Secure pricing and availability from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, including scope, terms, and conditions.
  • Request and evaluate multiple bids in the pricing process.
  • Oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes.
  • Manage and complete loading, device verification, and commissioning of system controllers as required.
  • Validate system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and trades.
  • Prepare and review technical documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure tasks are completed accurately, on-time, billed, within budget, and within scope.
  • Communicate project status to Project Lead and management, and assist in preparing monthly forecasts.
  • Send warranty letters upon project completion and ensure warranty execution.
  • Provide documentation and manuals for system operation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Attend job progress meetings as required.
  • Adhere to all safety standards with regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

Requirements

  • Prior experience related to Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS Installation, Fire Installation, Security Systems Installation or Master System Integration Installation is desired.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong PC skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project), Adobe Writer, Visio, and MS Windows environment.
  • Ability to interpret, understand, and manage fire code requirements (NFPA) for Fire roles is desired.
  • Minimum High School or equivalent required.
  • Possessing or working towards a 2-year business or construction management degree or applicable on-the-job experience is desirable.
  • Minimum two (2) years in construction, low voltage, mechanical, electronics, or related industry experience required.
