About the Role

The Associate Software Engineer role involves developing, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of software applications and systems that serve teachers, students, and parents worldwide. The position includes participating in the full software development lifecycle, working within an Agile team, and offering a hybrid work arrangement with four days remote work from New York, New York. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and manage the lifecycle of new and existing software applications and systems.
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle including building, testing, and deploying enhancements.
  • Participate in the Agile development process as part of a dynamic project team.
  • Work closely with domain teams on a variety of projects.
  • Support daily production runs for data ingestion from S3, Kafka, and direct API calls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with three years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with one year of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Agile development and industry-standard software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or C++.
  • Experience with software development and testing tools.
  • Ability to use SQL for data wrangling, extraction, and standardization.
  • Experience with Kafka and Glue for data ingestion from Data Lake into Redshift and Aurora.
  • Supporting daily production data ingestion from S3, Kafka, and APIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or related roles.
