About the Role

The Associate Product Manager is a vital contributor to the product management team, responsible for leading cross-functional teams in planning, execution, and analysis of various business initiatives. This role encompasses general management with P&L responsibility, including developing strategic business and marketing plans to achieve corporate and product volume profit and share objectives. The Assistant Product Manager is a key contributor responsible for working with cross-functional teams in planning, execution, and analysis of business initiatives, with a specific focus on inventory management and distressed mitigation. It is an entry-level role that works closely with the larger team to execute strategic plans to meet business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in achieving volume and profit objectives for assigned categories reflecting overall corporate goals.
  • Seamlessly execute business plans to deliver against category financial and share objectives.
  • Monitor performance measurements to ensure the category is tracking against goals.
  • Analyze data to identify insights and translate them into business initiatives and/or actionable tasks to drive results in line with business goals.
  • Collaborate with PMO partners to lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of product and packaging design plans: concept development, R&D business proposals, feasibility validation of product and packaging, approval and support throughout project execution, customer sell-in, and tracking of in-market performance.
  • Participate in development and execution of product and packaging design plans including concept development, feasibility, validation, execution, customer sell-in, and tracking in-market performance.
  • Participate in monthly volume forecasting for assigned categories, coordinating between Demand and Supply Planning groups to deliver forecast accuracy.
  • Implement product specification changes.
  • Monitor production, inventory, and packaging levels of key items.
  • Develop strong understanding and technical competencies of Tyson systems and processes.
  • Engage and work with cross-functional teams for assigned projects.
  • Proactively work with Sales Strategy and Planning partners to ensure forecast accuracy, maximize opportunities, and develop plans to meet capacity fill plan objectives.
  • Participate in customer sales calls and meetings.
  • Monitor and report on business performance, industry trends, market share, and competitive activity.
  • Support the creation of category selling tools, promotional initiatives, and sales communications.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the sales organization to understand and integrate customer strategies into business and brand plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. At least 2 years of direct product innovation, CPG or brand marketing experience.
  • OR recent graduate of an MBA or BBA program, with an internship or similar experience in brand/product marketing.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Good collaborator with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (required for both levels)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience (preferred for Assistant Manager)
  • Recent graduate with internship or similar experience (for MBA/BBA candidates)
