Job Description

About the Role

Humana is seeking a strategic and execution-focused AVP of Marketing Technology to lead a capabilities-based product organization that powers their next-generation marketing ecosystem. This leader will be instrumental in modernizing legacy platforms, enabling omnichannel personalization, and transforming how they engage prospects, members, and patients—through AI, Next Best Action (NBA), and emerging technologies. The role involves serving as a critical bridge between Marketing, IT, and Platform teams—translating business needs into scalable, compliant, and future-ready solutions. The AVP will lead the reimagination of marketing workflows, champion adoption across the enterprise, and operationalize the transformation of the MarTech organization, supporting a dual-hat model where capability leads act as both product managers and practitioners embedded within agile pods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operationalize the transformation to a dual-hat model—where capability leads act as both product managers and embedded practitioners in agile pods.
  • Lead and coach a high-performing team of dual-role capability leads—who own roadmaps and governance while supporting pod-based campaign execution.
  • Redesign marketing workflows and planning processes to improve speed, compliance, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and impact across the MarTech team.
  • Drive platform adoption through enablement and education, ensuring teams effectively use MarTech tools.
  • Own overall product strategy for MarTech capabilities including journey and activation, creative management, workflow optimization, and personalization.
  • Lead the vision, roadmap, and governance for marketing capabilities—ensuring scalability, user-centricity, and alignment to business needs.
  • Champion AI & NBA: Drive the shift from traditional journey-based marketing to real-time, AI-powered Next Best Action strategies.
  • Reimagine legacy platforms and processes to support a unified, scalable ecosystem across digital, telephonic, and direct mail channels.
  • Govern platform architecture in partnership with IT—evaluating new technologies and defining scalable product architectures.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to Marketing, IT, Data, Compliance, and external vendors to ensure cohesive delivery and continuous optimization.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and vendors to ensure contract alignment, partner performance, and value delivery.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing technology, digital product management, or enterprise platform leadership.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, insurance, financial services).
  • Deep expertise in Adobe Experience Cloud (AJO, AEP, AEM, Adobe Target) or Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
  • Proven success leading capabilities-based product organizations and owning strategic domains such as journey management, campaign orchestration, content operations, or Next Best Action.
  • Experience redesigning operating models and establishing cross-functional teams to support agile ways of working.
  • Familiarity with agile product development and scaled agile frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.

Nice to Have

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML, personalization, and NBA strategies in a marketing context.
  • Experience with AI governance, GenAI, and responsible deployment of emerging tech.
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems.
  • Thought leadership in MarTech, AI ethics, or digital transformation.

Qualifications

  • Educational background is not explicitly specified, but extensive experience in marketing technology and leadership roles is required.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary range of $203,400 - $279,800 per year, with potential bonus incentives.
  • Paid parental leave, caregiver leave, paid holidays, and volunteer time off.
  • Disability insurance, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid time off, and other wellness benefits.
