About the Role

The AVP, Verizon Analytics role at Synchrony is responsible for collaborating with retail partners and developing actionable analytical insights for the Verizon Credit program. The position involves deep dive analytics on shopping patterns using advanced techniques and building data-driven stories to influence senior leadership and drive business impact. The role offers flexibility to work from home, near hubs, or in the office, with occasional in-person engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create analytics frameworks to actively monitor Verizon credit member card usage/experience trends and provide insights/actionable to business teams
  • Conduct cause and effect analysis, marketing campaign performance deep dives, and business initiative impact analysis as needed
  • Collaborate with offshore analytics talent, coach them, and manage timely delivery of lifecycle analytic projects
  • Partner with the portfolio team and deliver complex analytical projects from ideation to presentation of results and recommendations
  • Present complex analytical information to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or high school diploma with 7+ years of analytics experience in marketing, portfolio management, product development, loyalty programs, credit card/consumer businesses, retail, or related fields
  • 3+ years of progressive work experience including at least 2+ years in analytics related to marketing, portfolio management, product development, or retail analytics
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing SAS, SQL, or other analytic tools for data mining and complex analyses
  • Proficiency with Python, R, or data visualization tools such as Tableau or D3.js
  • Experience with modeling/forecasting, targeting, segmentation, and retail analytic tools
  • Strong understanding of credit card industry financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze complex information, develop strategies, and communicate them clearly
  • Strong project management, communication, multi-tasking, relationship management, and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor Degree or advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field
  • Experience with retail analytic tools
  • Solid understanding of credit card industry financials and business performance reporting

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 7+ years of analytics experience, or Bachelor's degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
