About the Role

The Business Intelligence Developer L2 I in Decision Support Services is responsible for translating business needs into data-driven solutions, engaging with stakeholders to understand the purpose of data, and employing technical tools to support internal data standards. The role involves responding to service requests, creating and modifying data solutions, modeling key business processes, and maintaining collaborative relationships with clients across various departments within a healthcare setting. The position requires compliance with confidentiality, privacy, and security policies, including mandatory annual training.

Key Responsibilities

Translate the business needs of the customer into data-driven solutions.
Engage in discussions to understand why data is needed and how it can support business objectives.
Respond to service requests related to data solutions.
Create, modify, and support basic data solutions.
Model key business processes to facilitate data analysis.
Assist in the support of internal data standards.
Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, typically limited to a few departments within a single facility.
Communicate with a wide customer base ranging from unit managers to directors.
Gather information from multiple sources, analyze, and summarize data to help draw conclusions.
Access and handle confidential and protected information in accordance with policies and procedures.
Complete mandatory annual compliance training related to privacy and security.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university plus two (2) years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Relevant work experience includes healthcare experience, EMR system experience (Epic preferred), and data analytics.
Minimum of two years of healthcare data analysis experience with in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations.
Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities.
Hands-on experience with large relational databases and data warehousing, including querying using SQL or similar language.
Experience with report writing and visualization tools such as Epic Cogito Suite (RADAR, RW, SlicerDicer), SAP Business Objects (WebI), Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
Proficiency in Excel, including complex functions, formulas, and formatting.
Ability to work with and accurately track large datasets (millions of records).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
Demonstrated ability to present information in an easy-to-understand format.
