About the Role

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, you will be responsible for engineering, management and strategic planning. A BI Developer who designs, develops, and maintains business intelligence solutions, including data analytics platforms and reporting tools. They translate business needs into technical specifications and create visualizations and reports. Proficiency in database management systems and BI technologies is required.

Key Responsibilities

Designing and developing business intelligence solutions
Writing and testing requirements
Developing and maintaining data processing
Implementing and maintaining databases
Maintaining and improving tools for system analysis
Collaborating with other teams to meet the needs of customers
Performing SQL queries - design, code, test, and aggregate the results to create useful information
Writing technical documents on database content
Mapping various databases used in the organization
Developing, designing, and analyzing data architecture and data warehouses
Assessing current and future data processing needs for the company
Translating business needs to technical specifications
Designing, building, and deploying BI solutions (e.g., reporting tools)
Maintaining and supporting data analytics platforms
Creating tools to store data (e.g., OLAP cubes)
Conducting unit testing and troubleshooting
Evaluating and improving existing BI systems
Collaborating with teams to integrate systems
Developing and executing database queries and conducting analyses
Creating visualizations and reports for requested projects
Developing and updating technical documentation
Maintaining contacts with user departments, vendors, and system representatives

Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
Minimum of 3 years of experience in BI development
Experience with large data sets and dimensional modeling
Experience with business intelligence tools
Strong analytical skills
Experience with automated testing
Experience with writing complex queries
Understanding of SQL and relational databases
Strong knowledge of data analysis and visualization
Strong knowledge of ETL and data modeling
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong debugging and issue resolution skills
Strong attention to detail
Experience with BI technologies such as Microsoft Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, and JET Reporting Services
Background in data warehouse design and data mining
In-depth understanding of database management systems and OLAP frameworks
Excellent communication skills to explain technical information to non-BI developers
