About the Role

The Community Relations Director is responsible for leading the sales and marketing department at a senior living community, fulfilling leasing and move-in goals, maintaining a positive community image, and developing relationships with residents, families, and referral sources. The role emphasizes HEART values: Hospitality, Excellence, Appreciation, Respect, and Teamwork, and involves organizing events, outreach, and ensuring sales targets are met to enrich the lives of those served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, organize, and conduct tours with prospective residents of independent and assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.
  • Respond and follow-up with all walk-ins, phone ins, mail-ins timely and appropriately.
  • Create, plan, and implement events with the Sales and Marketing Team and Program Director to attract prospective residents, current leads, and professionals.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with residents, families, and professional care providers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all software programs.
  • Participate in weekend call coverage in Manager Rotation unless scheduled otherwise.
  • Secure the required number of budgeted move-ins and achieve net gains each month.
  • Treat each inquiry with value and assure every alternative is considered before closing a lead.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations, and Divisional Director of Sales and Marketing on marketing plans.
  • Create and implement community outreach programs to generate referrals and meet sales goals.
  • Complete quarterly media planning with vendors.
  • Keep the Executive Director informed of all sales activity daily.
  • Maintain Senior Lifestyle Hot Board/Move-in/Move-out board.
  • Communicate any special needs of incoming residents to appropriate personnel.
  • Manage use of sales toolbox.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, developments, and techniques.
  • Understand the needs of seniors and the aging process.
  • Maintain and actively work a meaningful waitlist.
  • Visit competitors quarterly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent information.
  • Comply with all policies, city, state, and federal regulations related to residents' accounts and billing.
  • Interact professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization, residents, and family members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Senior housing or hospitality sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with a competitive outside and inside sales environment.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and metrics.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Outgoing, personable, competitive, organized, and self-motivated leader.
  • Professional in speech and dress and passionate about serving seniors.
  • English fluency preferred.
  • Does not take 'no' as an answer and is not afraid of rejection.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
