About the Role

The Community Relations Director is responsible for leading the sales and marketing department at a senior living community, with a focus on fulfilling leasing and move-in goals, maintaining a positive community image, and developing relationships with residents, families, and referral sources. The role emphasizes embodying the company's core values of Hospitality, Excellence, Appreciation, Respect, and Teamwork, and involves planning community events, outreach, and ensuring sales targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, organize, and conduct tours with prospective residents of independent and assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.
  • Respond and follow-up with all walk-ins, phone ins, mail-ins timely and appropriately.
  • Create, plan, and implement events with the Sales and Marketing Team and Program Director to attract prospective residents, current leads, and professionals, including seminars, speakers, themed events, and family nights.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with residents, families, and professional care providers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all software programs used in the community.
  • Participate in weekend call coverage in Manager Rotation unless already scheduled otherwise.
  • Secure the required number of budgeted move-ins and achieve net gains each month.
  • Treat each inquiry with value and assure every alternative is considered before closing a lead.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations, and Divisional Director of Sales and Marketing on quarterly marketing plans.
  • Create and implement community outreach programs to generate referrals and meet sales goals.
  • Complete quarterly media planning with vendors on a timely basis.
  • Keep the Executive Director informed of all sales activity daily.
  • Maintain Senior Lifestyle Hot Board/Move-in and Move-out board.
  • Communicate any special needs of incoming residents to appropriate personnel.
  • Manage use of sales toolbox and ensure all sales activities are documented.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, developments, and techniques affecting the product.
  • Understand the needs of seniors and the aging process.
  • Maintain and actively work an active, meaningful waitlist.
  • Visit competitors quarterly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent information.
  • Comply with all Senior Lifestyle policies, and city, state, and federal regulations related to residents' accounts and billing.
  • Interact professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization, residents, and family members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Senior housing or hospitality sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with a competitive outside and inside sales environment.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and metrics.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Outgoing, personable, competitive, organized, and self-motivated leader.
  • Professional in speech and dress and passionate about serving seniors.
  • English fluency preferred.
  • Does not take 'no' as an answer and is not afraid of rejection.
