About the Role

The Copywriter/Content Writer is responsible for developing creative and functional marketing content, including customer facing educational and marketing messaging for all lines of business, NBT owned websites, social media, and all marketing channels. This role involves creating content that packages ideas into powerful branding and conversion messaging, driving content strategy, and supporting marketing campaigns with a strong understanding of SEO principles and content marketing. The position requires excellent writing skills and the ability to think like a marketer to capture attention and motivate action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and proofread NBT's marketing, advertising, and communications content with a solid understanding of the brand voice.
  • Write engaging, brand-aligned marketing copy, storylines, and themes for external messaging to current customers and prospects.
  • Work closely with the marketing team and business partners to ensure consistent, bold, and elegant communication across all mediums.
  • Drive and manage the SEO content strategy for the brands.
  • Manage the development of content calendars for the company, its brands, and business lines across all marketing channels, including traditional, digital, and customer communications.
  • Write video and organic and paid social media content.
  • Evaluate emerging content trends, media, and technologies, and provide recommendations for adoption.
  • Assist with internal project management, communicating with business partners and third-party vendors to ensure campaign or project completion.
  • Support the marketing team with day-to-day tasks and coordinate projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required (English, Creative Writing, Marketing, and Communications degrees preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience writing, editing, and proofing for multiple channels including traditional media, digital advertising, website and SEO, content marketing, social media, and video.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbal communication.
  • Strong grasp of the principles of the English language, including syntax, grammar, punctuation, and flow.
  • Ability to research products or services, trends, and consumer behavior to write educational or persuasive content.
  • Ability to create persuasive, performance content for nearly all marketing channels.
  • Creative mindset with a visual understanding of layout and design.
  • Strong content strategist with a strong SEO background.
  • Ability to withstand creative and constructive changes to work.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills.
  • Understanding of user experience for the brand.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.

  • Experience with content management systems and media technologies.
  • Knowledge of media and emerging content trends.

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in content writing, editing, and proofing across multiple channels.
