Job Description

About the Role

The Content Development Manager has strategic and tactical responsibilities for the development of the division's digital marketing content. They lead the division's content development practice, manage a multidisciplinary external team, and ensure content aligns with business objectives and quality standards. The role reports to the Group Manager of Digital Content Strategy and involves collaboration across teams to deliver effective digital content experiences in the Endoscopy division at Boston Scientific.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct end-to-end oversight of the content creation process, including selection of creative team members and providing ongoing creative direction to ensure content aligns with strategic goals.
  • Manage tools, procedures, and processes for success, including creative briefs, review cadences, stakeholder management, and team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with content strategists to complete creative briefs, customer journeys, and other strategic tasks.
  • Proactively plan contingencies with project management and creative teams during content development.
  • Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with Endoscopy key opinion leaders (KOLs) and internal teams, holding regular meetings for collaboration and ideation.
  • Work with user experience and digital marketing teams to ensure output aligns with strategy and delivers a consistent user experience across digital channels.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Analyst to develop content reporting that informs strategy, including engagement metrics and trend analysis.
  • Manage a robust external multidisciplinary team, determining content needs and skillsets, and balancing agency/contractor resources.
  • Hold agency and contractor reviews twice yearly to gather feedback and facilitate decision-making.
  • Act as SME for external agency management of social media accounts, reviewing content calendars, channel strategies, and social listening tools.
  • Serve as a thought-leader by sharing knowledge, identifying content opportunities, and innovating content creation and distribution practices.
  • Adhere to Boston Scientific and Endoscopy social media processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Sciences or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in content creation and/or content strategy, including managing the creative process.
  • Experience managing internal and external creative teams, providing creative and editorial direction.
  • Strong understanding of target audiences with effective writing skills and high-impact messaging abilities.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans with measurable metrics.
  • Self-starter with motivation and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Highly organized, creative, with outstanding follow-through skills.
  • Commitment to patient safety and product quality, maintaining compliance with quality policies.
  • Thorough understanding of social platforms, including best practices for content development and distribution (Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn).
  • Ability to operate within a branded environment and collaborate across a matrix organization.
  • Excellent visual, oral, and written communication skills for internal audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Masters degree.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or highly regulated environment.
  • Experience curating influencer marketing content, especially from interviewing SMEs in a regulated environment.
