About the Role

The Coordinator, Social Media at the Community College of Baltimore County is responsible for implementing and monitoring social media activities across various channels. The role involves guiding the college on social media integration and best practices to maximize marketing and community relations outreach, enhancing the college's visibility and engagement through strategic content creation and platform management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the college's overall social media strategy to increase visibility and website traffic.
  • Manage the college's presence on social networking sites including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the college and provide training for effective and appropriate social media use.
  • Serve as an online CCBC spokesperson, providing timely responses to messages, comments, mentions, and relevant keywords, and directing inquiries to appropriate resources or departments.
  • Conduct analysis and provide recommendations on adopting new social media platforms for the college.
  • Develop social media campaigns to promote the college's marketing and promotional needs.
  • Attend on-campus events to gather content for social media.
  • Collaborate with student social media ambassadors and interns assisting in content creation and engagement.
  • Identify and monitor benchmarks for measuring social media impact and analyze campaign effectiveness.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in public relations or social media.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience creating content and managing social media platforms including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and blogs.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with social media livestreaming capabilities and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • At least one year of experience in public relations or social media.
  • Experience creating content and managing social media platforms.
