Custom Software Engineering Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test custom software solutions across multiple system components or applications.
• Create implementation or integration approach for applications and components.
• Design and code applications in line with programming standards and interface specifications.
• Architect development strategy for applications and components.
• Coordinate development streams in line with overall program(s) timing and milestones.
• Build deployment plan, including the development plan and schedule, keeping in line with overall project timeline.
• Design, build, assemble, and configure application or technical architecture components using business requirements.
• Team with stakeholders on application and component design to secure buy in.
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Requirements

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or related field.
• Plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the IT consulting industry.
• Must have 5 years of experience in building technical applications, including integrating multi-platform client systems using legacy systems.
• Experience creating end-to-end functional and technical designs.
• Experience implementing A2A or B2B solutions using Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), File, SOAP, SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), or Java Message Service (JMS) Adapters.
• Experience leading production L2 or L3 level teams and helping to fix defects.
• Experience creating Proof of Concept (POC) and business reports.
• Experience planning and executing unit and integration testing.
• Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Creating and optimizing database queries.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately 80% of the time to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5 years of experience in IT consulting and software development.
