About the Role

The Data Analyst will independently review complex datasets to identify anomalies, gaps, or unexpected trends. You will interpret data to uncover operational or financial insights, summarizing key findings in clear, actionable language. Engaging with stakeholders, you will fill contextual gaps and validate the data story, distilling raw data into meaningful narratives and recommendations that support decision-making. You should anticipate data questions or business needs before they arise, preparing thoughtful analyses accordingly. Continuous monitoring of data sources to detect risks, performance shifts, or outliers early is also a critical part of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently review complex datasets to identify anomalies, gaps, or unexpected trends.
  • Interpret data to uncover operational or financial insights and summarize key findings.
  • Engage with stakeholders to fill contextual gaps and validate the data story.
  • Distill raw data into meaningful narratives and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Anticipate data questions or business needs and prepare analyses accordingly.
  • Monitor data sources to detect risks, performance shifts, or outliers early.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and modeling functions.
  • Ability to develop and validate financial or data models for forecasting and budgeting.
  • Proven experience translating ambiguous or unstructured data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to communicate data insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to spot trends and data inconsistencies quickly.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or program control.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to contract requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a mission-oriented environment supporting government or military projects.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools or programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Tableau.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Data Analytics
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or program control
