About the Role

National Grid is hiring a Principal Data Analyst for our Transformation Office department. This position is open to multiple locations in NY and MA. The role involves leading data analysis and migration activities within the Kraken program, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with data governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Work cross-functionally to define customer segmentation criteria
Develop and maintain a dynamic customer cohort plan to drive customer migration
Deliver a flexible and risk-based cohorting strategy, considering business, regulatory, financial, and technical factors, while ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards
Lead customer migration activities in an agile manner, partnering with the IT team
Provide contingency plans for customer migration and cohorting, supporting dynamic analysis and updates
Collaborate closely with IT, reporting teams, and business stakeholders to align on requirements, timelines, and success criteria
Serve as the liaison between technical teams and business units to clarify cohorting logic and data migration impacts
Monitor post-migration cohort performance and provide insights to inform business decisions
Analyze outcomes to refine cohorting logic and improve future migrations

Requirements

7-10 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, data management, or migration-related roles
At least 3-5 years of direct experience in data migration (preferred)
Experience working with agile and/or CI/CD programs
Strong technical and data-oriented skills to create, manage, and maintain dynamic data analysis
Ability to collaborate across diverse teams with conflicting goals
Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including at the executive level
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-directed with a strong customer focus, motivated, and committed to high standards of excellence, integrity, and confidentiality
Knowledge of data migration and modeling
Understanding of core data governance principles
Experience with Agile or CI/CD, including Scaled Agile methodologies
Knowledge of Kraken or CSS systems (preferred)
Understanding of Meter to Cash, Customer Operations, and/or CIS functionality (preferred)
