About the Role

The Data Architect will design and implement enterprise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks for integration with other transactional applications. This role will focus on creating scalable data architecture that enables seamless data flow for our analytics platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern data architecture, with specific experience in Microsoft's data platform and Delta Lake architecture. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a robust data architecture that supports the organization's data needs, including data lake and data warehouse components
  • Maintain and update existing architecture based on business needs
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business users to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Help with data analysis and data flow across applications and systems
  • Leverage Azure and Fabric services to build scalable and cost-effective data solutions
  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance while adhering to company compliance and governance policies
  • Compare alternative approaches to meet objectives
  • Work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Possess good organizational, decision-making, and logical troubleshooting skills
  • Work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams on day-to-day application activities across clouds
  • Own and deliver technical solutions for initiatives and projects
  • Troubleshoot support issues and design new solutions with other technical leads
  • Support integration and data flow across different applications
  • Understand data requirements of transactions and systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 Years Experience in Data Architecture framework components - Integration, Data Management and Data Consumption
  • Proficiency in Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric
  • Exposure to deploying data pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Strong understanding of business processes, architecture, and data models
  • Working knowledge of Power BI for reporting, semantic model design, and DAX is a plus
  • Exposure to Microsoft Purview for data quality, lineage, and compliance is a plus
  • 2-4 years of Agile development experience
  • Ability to learn new data frameworks and industry best practices
  • Experience designing and implementing data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources
  • Familiarity with batch and real-time data processing
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex issues
  • Self-motivation and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and environments
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for internal and external stakeholders
  • Travel readiness for up to 10% travel within North America

Nice to Have

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric components (Lakehouse, Dataflows, Pipelines, etc.)
  • Proficient with Azure services such as Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, SQL DB
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate certification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
