Job Description

About the Role

As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. You will work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment, using your experience in analytical exploration and data examination to manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for clients. The role involves working with data for impactful missions such as fraud detection, cancer research, and national intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and deploy data pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
  • Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, developers, and mission stakeholders to refine data models and ontology mapping.
  • Manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable data platforms for clients.
  • Use analytical exploration and data examination techniques to support mission-driven projects.
  • Guide a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with SQL, Java, or Python and Spark.
  • Experience working with highly structured data.
  • Knowledge of different data types and data sources.
  • Ability to manipulate data across different tables.
  • Ability to collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders.
  • Experience with code repositories such as Git for version control.
  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with advanced data modeling, including entity resolution.
  • Experience working in the defense sector.
  • Experience with Agile engineering practices.
  • Experience building scalable ETL and ELT workflows with Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
  • Ability to build modular applications and workflows leveraging TypeScript, Python, and Foundry AIP.
  • Master's degree.
