Data Center Operations Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the assigned Cogent datacenters operational and alarm free
• Provisioning and turn-up customer orders (Rack, power, cross-connects)
• Select, manage and train vendors on datacenter related activities
• Coordinate datacenter activity with NOC and Datacenter Engineering
• Setup regular maintenance works
• Respond to problems that require a dispatch to a site and work with support until problems are solved, including out of business hours dispatches
• Work flexible hours based on facility maintenance requirements
• Travel to other data center sites in different cities
• Perform physical labor as required

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with datacenter operations or telecommunications network environment
• Knowledge of critical equipment in the data center (Electrical, HVAC systems, Fire systems, Power systems - UPS, Switch, Diesel Generators)
• Experience managing vendors and contractors and working on several projects in parallel
• High-energy individual with interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
• Project management experience
• Ability to maintain and document information to keep inventory up to date
• Flexibility to respond to urgent events when they occur
• Reside within the Cheyenne and/or Denver region
