Data Engineer II

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data platform that supports data integrations for Enterprise Data Warehouse, Operational Data Store or Data Marts with appropriate data access, data security, data privacy and data governance.
• Create data ingestion pipelines in data warehouses and other large-scale data platforms.
• Create Data Ingestion pipeline for a variety of sources - File, DB, API, and SharePoint.
• Build reusable Data pipelines / frameworks using any scripting language.
• Source, compile, and interpret data. Perform analysis for accuracy and efficiencies, and effectively communicate analysis output.
• Thoroughly test systems to ensure proper installation of new software, system changes, and overall efficiency. Evaluate and convey testing results.
• Perform coding and assist in implementing system modifications and enhancements.
• Provide technical support by performing coding, ensuring processes run smoothly, and working to continuously improve processing capabilities.
• Work closely with business units and operation teams to support their business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Application software programming OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Application software programming.
• Experience in designing and building Data Warehouse and Data lakes.
• Good knowledge of data warehouse principles, and concepts.
• Technical expertise working in large scale Data Warehousing applications and databases such as Oracle, Netezza, Snowflake and SQL Server.
• Experience with public cloud-based data platforms especially Snowflake and AWS.
• Expertise in design and development of complex data pipelines.
• Solutions using industry leading ETL tools such as SAP BODS, Informatica IICS, IBM Data Stage.
• Knowledge of ELT tools such as DBT, Fivetran, and AWS Glue.
• Expert in SQL and development experience in scripting languages (Python etc.), with ability to trace and resolve data integrity issues.
• Knowledge of Logical and Physical Data Model using Relational or Dimensional Modeling practices, high volume ETL/ELT processes.
• Performance tuning of data pipelines and DB Objects.
• Experience in Gitlab version control and CI/CD processes.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in Financial Industry.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience.
