About the Role

The Data Engineer II role at Bank of America is responsible for developing and delivering data solutions to support technology and business objectives. Key Responsibilities

Works across development teams to contribute to the story refinement and delivery of data requirements through the delivery life cycle
Leverages architecture components in solution development, codes solutions to integrate, clean, transform, and control data in operational and analytical data systems per acceptance criteria
Builds processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency, and workload management and defines and builds data pipelines and complex data sets to enable data-informed decision making
Develops and executes test plans to produce quantitative results, contributes to existing test suites including integration, regression, and performance, analyzes test reports, identifies test issues and errors, and triages underlying causes
Drives complex information technology projects to ensure on-time delivery and adheres to team delivery and release processes
Identifies, defines, and documents data engineering requirements, communicating required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
Works with technology partners and stakeholders to identify and close gaps in data management standards adherence, negotiates solutions, and communicates complex data problems
Ideates, designs, develops, and maintains Oracle databases, applications, and systems
Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to Oracle databases and applications

Requirements

10+ years of job-related experience
Expertise in SQL and PL/SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and packages
Knowledge of Oracle DBA practices, including database security and performance tuning
Experience in data modeling
Experience in developing and delivering data solutions to meet technology and business goals
Experience with code design and delivery tasks related to data integration, cleaning, transformation, and control in transactional data systems
Experience working with stakeholders, Product Owners, and Software Engineers to implement data requirements, analyze performance, and troubleshoot issues

Nice to Have

Familiarity with the data engineering practices of the bank
Responsibility to manage, maintain, and improve Oracle Database implementation in the payments space
Support database releases, troubleshoot, triage activities, and liaise with Bank CTO DB teams to maintain system health
