About the Role

The Data Engineer, Mid at Booz Allen is responsible for building advanced technology solutions and implementing data engineering activities on mission-driven projects. The role involves deploying and developing pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful, working with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, agile environment to assess, design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms. The position supports using data for impactful missions such as fraud detection, cancer research, and national intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on mission-driven projects.
Deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
Work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers.
Use experience in analytical exploration and data examination to manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for clients.

Requirements

3+ years of experience utilizing programming languages for Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, data analysis, or data modeling.
3+ years of experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores and big data models.
3+ years of experience developing in Python.
Experience developing code for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data.
Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and support scaling, monitoring, and operation of data platforms.
Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

Experience implementing code in an operational environment or for operational usage.
Experience in application development utilizing PostgreSQL.
Experience with Rust or Java.
Experience with DevSecOps tools, including GitHub.
Experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience working on real-time data.
Experience with Agile engineering practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
