About the Role

As a Data Engineer at PGIM Global Services, you will partner with talented architects, infrastructure engineers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, and data analysts to improve our core data platforms and supporting applications. You will analyze, design, develop, test, and perform ongoing maintenance to build high-quality data pipelines that drive platform delivery. You will implement capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services, and experiences to delight our customers. This role is based in Tampa, FL, with a hybrid work structure requiring on-site presence at least 3 days per week. Key Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize data pipelines, logic, and storage systems using industry standards, modern design patterns, and architectural principles.
  • Develop high-quality, well-documented, and efficient code adhering to Prudential standards.
  • Conduct complex data analysis, report results, and prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and architects to enhance data acquisition, transformation, organization, reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Write unit, integration, and functional automation tests, and develop solutions for problems identified by quality assurance or support teams.
  • Provide input, coaching, and embed learning and innovation within the team.
  • Work on complex problems requiring evaluation of intangible variables.
  • Utilize programming languages including Python, R, SQL, Java, Scala, Pyspark/Apache Spark, Shell scripting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with DevOps automation tools and practices, and knowledge of the full SDLC.
  • Ability to perform with minimal guidance and leverage diverse ideas and perspectives.
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes for sound decision-making.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced experience with programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Java, Scala, Pyspark/Apache Spark, Shell scripting.
  • Experience with data ingestion, transformation, and integration tools, including Microsoft Fabric.
  • Knowledge of database management systems (relational, NoSQL, Graph, data warehouse) and tools like Azure SQL Database and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Experience with real-time analytics (Azure Stream Analytics, Event Hubs), data buffering, workflow orchestration (Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps), and data visualization (Power BI, Excel).
  • Building data lakes and warehousing using Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Understanding of data security, data protection principles, and security services.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as ARM templates and Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud services and architecture principles.
  • Understanding of testing concepts including unit, interface, and end-user testing, and DevOps integration.

Nice to Have

  • Serverless data pipeline development using Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Relevant certifications in Azure technologies.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
