About the Role

The Data Engineer, R&D IT at FMC Corporation is responsible for executing the vision for the company's data and analytics strategy. The role involves supporting a wide spectrum of data needs, including large-scale data management, cloud infrastructure, modern data architecture, and data science use cases through rapid prototyping. The engineer will develop high-quality data pipelines for data warehousing, analysis, and big data solutions, while ensuring data quality, performance, security, and scalability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as data scientists, analysts, application developers, IT infrastructure, IT security, and business stakeholders is essential to understand data needs and deliver reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Execute the vision for FMC's data and analytics strategy, supporting data management, cloud infrastructure, and data science use cases.
Engineer and deliver high-quality data pipelines for data warehousing, data analysis, and big data solutions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, processes, and configurations.
Lead and participate in architecture discussions, recommend design choices, and execute projects balancing strategic and tactical goals.
Collaborate and foster cross-functional relationships with data scientists, analysts, application developers, IT infrastructure, IT security, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and build reliable solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field of study.
At least 3 years of experience as a data engineer, including designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
Experience with data models and schemas, relational database design, data modeling, and data warehousing.
Experience with modern data warehouses and optimizing ETL data pipelines.
Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
Experience implementing analytic platforms in cloud ecosystems such as MS Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, etc.
Experience with version control systems.
At least 1 year of experience building data and analytics solutions.
Ability to work remotely up to 2 days a week.
