Job Description

About the Role

We are hiring a Data Engineer Senior in Lockheed Martin's Data & AI Enablement organization to support Data Engineering development efforts on the Enterprise Integration Applications team. The role involves delivering full-stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline, utilizing systems engineering principles to design and implement scalable data systems that support various enterprise processes such as engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance. The position requires knowledge of local, distributed, and cloud-based technologies, data virtualization, security mechanisms, and building data pipelines for analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver full-stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline, including systems design and implementation.
  • Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate unorganized data into databases or data sources ready for analysis.
  • Design and develop highly scalable distributed data processing systems and Data Warehouses.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into analytical applications.
  • Maintain data systems performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems.
  • Define standards, best practices, and certification processes for application development and deployment.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, R, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with at least one database technology (Oracle, MySQL, SqlServer, Db2, etc.).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevSecOps practices, including Github capabilities in a data environment.
  • Ability to work remotely full-time and travel to Lockheed Martin offices for periodic meetings.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a government security clearance at the Secret level.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile Software Development.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub, GitLab.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, BitBucket.
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud Platform core services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
  • Experience with ElasticSearch and/or OpenSearch.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Splunk, IBM Cognos.
