About the Role

The Data Engineering Manager (IS Manager II) is responsible for managing the data engineering team that designs, develops, and maintains data solutions across the Council. This role involves overseeing databases, data platforms, data lakes, data marts, and data pipelines/ETL/ELT processes to ensure data availability, quality, consistency, and reliability. The position is part of the Information Services (IS) department, which provides IT support to all Council divisions, and offers a hybrid (remote and onsite) work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the data engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions across the Council.
Oversee the development and maintenance of databases, data platforms, data lakes, and data marts.
Ensure data movement processes such as data pipelines, ETL, and ELT are functioning effectively.
Assure data is available for operational and analytical systems.
Work to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.

Requirements

Experience managing data engineering teams or similar leadership roles.
Knowledge of data solutions including databases, data lakes, and data marts.
Experience with data pipelines, ETL, and ELT processes.
Strong understanding of data quality, consistency, and reliability principles.
Ability to support both operational and analytical data needs.

Working at League Of Minnesota Cities

Our Information Services (IS) department of 140 members provides IT support to all Council divisions. The position is eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.
