About the Role

BlackRock SMA Solutions helps clients customize portfolios for unique tax, values-alignment, or investment exposures across direct indexing, fixed income, active equity, and multi-asset. We deliver world-class service to all of our clients, from wealth advisors to family offices to endowments and foundations. This role involves building, enhancing, and supporting a wide variety of data integrations to connect diverse systems and real-time operational workflows, ensuring data arrives in a complete, timely, and validated manner.

Key Responsibilities

Build, enhance, and support data integrations to connect diverse systems and real-time workflows.
Work with team members and stakeholders to ensure data is complete, timely, and of validated quality.
Troubleshoot problems in a live environment and provide real-time assistance with critical issues.

Requirements

BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
At least 3+ years of experience as a data integration engineer with medium to large scale systems, preferably in a financial services or trading environment.
Solid knowledge of programming fundamentals—algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and paradigms.
Strong knowledge of one or more modern object-oriented languages (Python, Java, Go, etc.).
Solid knowledge of SQL and relationship databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Sybase, etc.).
Knowledge of API design approaches (RESTful, GraphQL, gRPC).
Ability to troubleshoot problems in a live environment and provide real-time help with critical issues.
Ability to communicate and work effectively across various business departments.
Ability to work in a fast-paced interdisciplinary environment.

Nice to Have

Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience integration with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, MS Dynamics.
Familiarity with RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or other messaging technologies.
Familiarity with other structured storage or NoSQL solutions (Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc.).
Background in statistical and/or financial analysis.

Qualifications

Educational background in Computer Science or related field (BA/BS or equivalent).
