About the Role

As a Data Science Manager at Meta, you will help shape the future of the experiences we build for billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses, creators, and partners around the world. You will apply your people leadership, project management, analytical, and technical skills, creativity, and product intuition to one of the largest data sets in the world. You will collaborate on a wide array of product and business problems with cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and others. You will influence product strategy and investment decisions with data, lead and grow a high-performing team, and become part of a world-class analytics community dedicated to skill development and career growth in analytics and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of data scientists to develop strategies for our products that serve billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses, creators, and partners around the world.
Drive analytics projects end-to-end in partnership with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
Influence product direction through clear and compelling presentations to leadership.
Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.
Identify and measure success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends.
Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product, and drive roadmaps through insights and recommendations.
Contribute towards advancing the Data Science discipline at Meta, including driving data best practices, improving analytical processes, scaling knowledge and tools, and mentoring other data scientists.

Requirements

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, completed prior to joining Meta.
A minimum of 4 years of work experience in applied analytics, including at least 2 years with a Ph.D.
Experience managing analytics teams for at least 2 years.
Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
Experience initiating and completing analytical projects with minimal guidance.
Experience communicating results of analysis to senior leadership.
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative field.
Experience working in technology, consulting, or finance.
Proven track record of leading high-performing analytics teams.
