About the Role

As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you will work on unlocking insights from complex data sets to solve global challenges across various sectors, including fraud detection, cancer research, and national intelligence. You will use your expertise to analyze data, develop algorithms, and guide clients and teammates in making informed decisions through data-driven solutions. The role involves leadership, collaboration, and applying data science techniques to create real-world impact in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with clients to understand their questions and needs related to data analysis.
Dig into data-rich environments to find relevant information and insights.
Guide teammates and lead the development of algorithms and systems to solve complex problems.
Use appropriate tools and frameworks to turn disparate data points into objective answers.
Provide a deep understanding of data, its meaning, and how it can be used for decision-making.

Requirements

3+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining.
3+ years of experience with analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
Experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis.
Experience with developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources.
Experience with natural language processing, text mining, or machine learning techniques.
Experience implementing automation in processing, presenting, or manipulating data.
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

Experience in the development of algorithms leveraging Python and SQL.
Experience with developing solutions incorporating Large Language Models.
Experience with Python data science and visualization packages.
Experience with Excel VBA.
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
