About the Role

Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks a Data Scientist to solve business challenges using advanced analytics and work with team members to deliver solutions. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, developing and validating models, supporting deployment and monitoring, and building relationships across the organization. Key Responsibilities

Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and structuring an advanced analytical solution to solve it.
Identifying key internal/external, structured/unstructured data sources to define the optimal data set for testing hypotheses and partnering with others to connect these data sources.
Preparing internal/external, structured/unstructured data sets to build, rebuild, or refresh predictive models.
Leading efforts to design, develop, and validate models.
Working closely with stakeholders to develop a strategy on how to use the model to generate the desired impact.
Supporting the project after deployment to ensure that impact is achieved.
Monitoring model accuracy and working with stakeholders to ensure appropriate use and desired impact.
Contributing to the development of improvements to analytic techniques to solve business challenges.
Supporting IT implementation and system integration of models.
Leading development of best practices and improvements to analytic techniques.
Building collaborative relationships across the organization.

Requirements

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a closely related field.
At least 2 years of experience in solving business challenges using advanced analytics, including developing machine learning models and NLP processing.
2 years of experience working in the insurance industry.
2 years of experience communicating with business unit stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
2 years of experience working with data visualization tools and techniques.
2 years of experience using fuzzy matching algorithms in insurance claims processing.
Experience involving statistical modeling and advanced machine learning concepts.
Proficiency with Python, PySpark, and scikit-learn.
Experience with web application development using Streamlit.
Proficiency with SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
Experience with NLP tools and libraries including BERT and Hugging Face.
Experience with Microsoft Excel analytical tools, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
Experience deploying models or data science solutions into production to make a business impact.

Nice to Have

Experience working with web application development using Streamlit.
Experience with deploying models into production.

Qualifications

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in a relevant field.
2 years of relevant experience in advanced analytics and machine learning.
