Data Scientist I - People Analytics

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute analytical solutions using statistical, optimization, simulation, and data mining methods to deliver actionable insights and business value.
• Integrate large volumes of data from sources such as DB2, SQL Server, Web API, and Teradata to create data assets and perform analyses.
• Apply validation, aggregation, and reconciliation techniques to develop rich, modeling-ready data frameworks.
• Construct predictive models using machine learning techniques to explain events, forecast behavior, or identify risks through scoring or clustering.
• Interpret results efficiently and communicate findings and their potential value to managers.
• Support the integration of solutions within existing business processes using automation techniques.
• Understand and apply current and emerging statistical methods and tools.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is preferred.
• 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant work experience is preferred.
• Deep expertise in at least one core data science capability, such as programming & process automation, data visualization, or statistical modeling.
• Experience with APIs, file I/O, databases, analysis libraries, and scripting languages.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools and proficiency in static data visualization.
• Understanding of statistical inference, regression, and basic machine learning techniques like random forests and neural nets.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries, troubleshoot, and explore databases independently.
• Basic communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to coach or mentor team members and respond positively to change.
• Entrepreneurial self-starter, results-oriented problem-solver, and lifelong learner.

• Experience with data mining and web scraping.
• Exposure to financial services industry.
• Basic understanding of organizational structure.
