Data Scientist II, Channels Team

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop predictive models (e.g., recommendation systems) using machine learning and statistical techniques to drive business impact.
• Design and analyze experiments to measure model performance and support data-driven decisions.
• Build custom solutions tailored to our unique environment, where off-the-shelf models often don't scale effectively.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand business goals and translate them into actionable data science solutions.
• Work closely with engineering teams to deploy models from prototype to production, ensuring smooth integration into products.
• Effectively communicate models, algorithms, and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proficient in open-source languages, with hands-on development of predictive models and solutions utilizing open-source tools and cloud computing platforms.
• Deep understanding of the foundations of statistics and machine learning.
• Experience building data science solutions at scale and owning projects end-to-end from research to production.
• Partnership experience with cross-functional teams of data scientists, engineers, and product managers.
• BS/MS with 4+ years or a PhD with 2+ years of experience in a DS and ML role involving bringing products from ideation to production.
• Experience in building ML models in always-on production systems and working with diverse technologies and data sources.
• Proficient in Python.
• Experience running heavy workloads on distributed computing clusters, especially EMR or Databricks, leveraging Spark.
• Experience in programmatic advertising and/or real-time auctions is preferred.
• Experience in Deep Learning, PyTorch/Tensorflow is preferred.
