About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Deploying and managing PostgreSQL databases on AWS
• Automating database deployment and management using Shell and Python scripting, Terraform, and Ansible
• Designing, optimizing, and maintaining database structures, queries, indexes, and integrity checks
• Researching, designing, documenting, and implementing new database services
• Managing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code for database deployment

Requirements

• Shell and Python scripting, Terraform, and Ansible for automation
• Infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, automation tools like Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes for PostgreSQL deployment
• Strong knowledge of database design, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, and isolation levels
• Ability to independently research, design, document, and implement new database services
• 10+ years of experience (or 14+ years without a degree)

Nice to Have

• SQL optimization workflow experience
• Advanced PostgreSQL monitoring and tuning
• Oracle or SQL Server scalability experience
• Logical decoding and replication expertise
• Agile environment experience
• TS/SCI with polygraph
