Design Build Senior Project Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assisting in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
• Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client's satisfaction. Leads client contract scoping and negotiations.
• Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.
• Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
• Responsible for and oversees project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff; development of staffing plans; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
• Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mega and super mega projects. Leads proposal development and presentation efforts.
• May be responsible for recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including development of staffing plans, performance reviews, and succession planning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience.
• 4 years of successful management of engineering projects.
• Experience delivering 4for4 (on-time, on-budget, quality, client satisfaction) on multi-disciplined or large/complex projects.
• Ability to identify and handle risk and change management independently.
• Experience leading large teams inside and outside of HNTB using sub-consultants.
• Proficiency with system tools to manage, monitor, and deliver complex projects.
• Experience leading HNTB's Sophisticated processes as applicable to the project.
• Ability to serve as the lead interface with the client.
• Experience deploying talent to other projects and developing successors.

Nice to Have

• Design Build Management Expert with a proven track record in leading multi-discipline design teams.
• Strong background in Transit Signal Systems, with the ability to lead and advise on signal design integration within complex infrastructure projects.
• Master's degree in Engineering.
• 15 years relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Willingness to relocate to the Dallas area or be local.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 12 years of relevant experience.
• 4 years of project management experience.
