About the Role

This position is on-site/hybrid in Phoenix, Arizona. A qualified applicant must be local to this area or be open to relocation. The role is within Cognizant's Practice - CIS - Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security Services, which focuses on digital transformation through core modernization across layers. The team helps customers transform infrastructure and workplace environments to meet the evolving needs of the digital era, delivering cloud-driven modernization and operational transformation in a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain GitHub Actions including self-hosted runners, autoscaling, secure execution environments, and workflow orchestration.
Work with builds and deployments of programming languages such as Java, NodeJS, and Python, with experience in dot Net & Go being a plus.
Administer and support GitHub Enterprise, including GHES upgrade planning, disaster recovery, replication, and internal service optimizations.
Create and manage GitHub Apps at the enterprise level and work with enterprise standard GitHub workflows and reusable workflows.
Manage Kubernetes clusters using tools such as kubectl, Rancher, and Helm, including administration, monitoring, and resource optimization.
Design and manage Kubernetes cluster layout, resources, and storage, and monitor Kubernetes resources like pods, nodes, and namespaces.

Requirements

Overall 6+ years of experience in GHES administration, with deep expertise in GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners, and microservices architecture.
Strong scripting, API integration, and automation skills using GitHub REST/GraphQL APIs, GitHub CLI, Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
Experience with GHES upgrade planning, disaster recovery, replication, and internal service optimizations.
Cloud expertise in GH Cloud and GCP, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and DevOps security best practices.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java for automation tasks.
Certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Nice to Have

Experience with source code management including Git and GitHub workflows.
Experience working with DevOps tools such as Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.

Qualifications

Deep expertise in GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) administration and GitHub Actions.
Experience with self-hosted runners, microservices architecture, and enterprise software development lifecycle.
Strong scripting and automation skills, including API integration.
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevSecOps practices.
