About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Define the technical roadmap for DevOps practices, aligning with broader business objectives.
• Lead a team of DevOps engineers, setting goals, reviewing performance, and fostering professional growth.
• Provide high-level guidance on AWS, container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes), CICD practices and IaC (CloudFormation).
• Ensure secure, compliant architectures aligned with Thomson Reuters standards.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes, implementing best practices for availability, scalability, and observability.
• Coordinate with Platform Stakeholders across Service Management and InfoSec organizations.
• Mentor engineers on DevOps methodologies, infrastructure management, and modern development practices.
• Cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages learning and innovation.

Requirements

• 7+ years in a combination of software development and operations (DevOps), with at least 3 years in engineering leadership or management roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC (CloudFormation, Terraform or equivalents).
• Proven proficiency in production-grade Python services, with an understanding of type systems or statically typed languages as a plus.
• Able to balance long-term vision with immediate deliverables, prioritizing high-impact initiatives.
• Effective at guiding cross-functional discussions and translating technical concepts for stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to Have

• Experience in large-scale AWS migrations or transformations.
• Experience with a variety of DevOps tooling (CI/CD patterns, IaC, monitoring solutions, etc.).
