Job Description

About the Role

Butler Community College is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to join the College Relations & Marketing staff within the Institutional Advancement Division. The role involves working closely with the Information Services Division and various faculty and staff to develop and implement digital marketing strategies across multiple online platforms, focusing on marketing automation, digital advertising, website performance, search engine optimization, and electronic communications. The position also includes monitoring and managing the college's online presence, participating in creative meetings, and leading training sessions for employees on content updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate and timely digital marketing strategies across a variety of online platforms.
  • Focus on marketing automation, digital advertising, website performance, search engine optimization, and electronic communications.
  • Monitor and help manage Butler's online presence.
  • Participate actively in creative meetings.
  • Lead training sessions for employees on initiatives related to content updates on the website.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a busy office setting and handle frequent interruptions.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate strong, clear, concise writing and editing skills.
  • Be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize, schedule, and conduct meetings as necessary.
  • Video editing/multimedia experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, CSS, Drupal, and WordPress.
  • Experience with social media advertising, digital advertising techniques and tools, website development and maintenance, search engine optimization, CSS, web page layout, JavaScript, HTML, web CMS systems, and marketing automation.
  • Two to five years minimum relevant experience, ideally in a higher education setting.
  • Educational background with a Bachelor degree in journalism, graphic design, marketing, web development, or related industry.

  • Experience with Flash & Video.
  • Experience with web-based applications.
  • Experience with Acrobat.
  • Experience with JavaScript.

  • Bachelor degree in journalism, graphic design, marketing, web development, or related industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of web development and digital marketing implementation and management.
