About the Role

As the Director of AI & Data Science at DHL Supply Chain, you will lead strategic initiatives that harness advanced AI and data science techniques—including predictive and prescriptive analytics, machine learning, generative AI, statistics, and operations research—to drive operational excellence and deliver measurable business value. You will be involved in designing, developing, and deploying innovative data science solutions, managing project execution, and advising executive stakeholders. Additionally, you will mentor and develop a high-performing team, shaping the long-term vision for AI and data science across North America within a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and scalable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the growth and standardization of AI and Data Science practices across the NorAm Analytics Community.
Lead and nurture high-performing Data Science teams, fostering a strong, engaged culture.
Identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact AI use cases aligned with business objectives.
Translate complex models and insights into compelling business narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate with Business Units, Operations, and global analytics teams to define and execute long-term strategy.
Continuously research emerging technologies and trends to inform multi-year planning and innovation.
Serve as the central point of expertise on AI and Data Science for executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Provide regular updates and strategic insights to the Executive team on the state and impact of analytics initiatives.
Approve, implement, and monitor tools, models, and software to ensure effective analytics solutions and ROI.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to make frequent and dynamic prioritization decisions based on product analytics, metrics, and customer feedback.
Develop and refine business and pricing models for AI products.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Business Administration (Ph.D. preferred).
10+ years' experience in diverse roles with increasing responsibilities across business and IT.
5 years' experience working with Machine Learning technologies (DataRobot, Azure ML Studio, others).
3 years' experience working with cloud analytics platforms.
2 years' experience with scripting languages such as Python, R, Jupyter, Java, Scala.
5 years' experience working with statistics.

Nice to Have

Ph.D. in relevant field.
Experience in Warehouse Management System implementations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Business Administration.
10+ years' experience in roles with increasing responsibilities across business and IT.
