About the Role

MDLIVE is seeking an experienced Director of Analytics to lead the business's analytics, insights, and business intelligence functions. They will contribute to the strategic direction of the organization and help identify, raise awareness, and contribute to impactful opportunities for performance improvement. The role involves partnering with senior leaders, partner organizations, and clients to align actionable insights with operational workflows. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, demonstrate exceptional business acumen, lead by example, and work closely with their team, with familiarity across various data domains including clinical, administrative, claims, and finance, especially within health plans and provider organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and manage the analytics team to deliver high-quality insights and data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and provide actionable insights that align with operational workflows.
  • Design and execute a multi-year enterprise data analytics strategy aligned with MD Live's growth and objectives.
  • Champion the modernization of data infrastructure to enable scalable and efficient analytics workflows.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive analytics framework with data governance and development lifecycle to ensure data integrity, accuracy, consistency, compliance, and stakeholder trust.
  • Design and develop enterprise-grade BI dashboards using Tableau features, custom visualizations, and advanced analytics.
  • Partner with business units to identify analytical opportunities, prioritize projects, and translate complex data into business impact.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, influence cross-functional teams, and communicate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Work with stakeholders to define and improve analytics/reporting capabilities, both standardized and ad-hoc.
  • Create a positive, collaborative team environment built on open communication and trust.
  • Set clear goals and KPIs, delegate tasks, and manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated leadership and experience in advanced analytics, business process optimization, consulting, financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and provider payment strategy.
  • Ability to build and maintain credible relationships at senior levels within the organization.
  • Experience leading complex teams with knowledge of healthcare systems including medical management, claims, risk & quality, finance, provider networks, and practice operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate key messages to executive leaders and stakeholders.
  • Proven data and analytical skills including modeling, synthesizing information, and deriving insights to guide strategy.
  • Experience developing analysis, problem-solving, and presentation skills to communicate complex concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Expertise in SQL, proficiency in Tableau and Python, and familiarity with JIRA.
  • Ability to tell stories with data and translate complex data into actionable insights.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working deeply with health plans and provider organizations.
  • Experience in or working with health-related data domains such as clinical, administrative, claims, and finance.
  • Experience with data infrastructure modernization and enterprise analytics frameworks.

  • High school diploma or GED.
